Medical engineering combines the disciplines of engineering and medicine. With a focus on the clinical application of technology, the Medical Technology Unit constitutes a bridge between Karolinska Institutet and the Royal Institute of Technology in Huddinge, Stockholm.

We offer basic and graduate education and coordinate research within the field of medical engineering. We develop new technologies that are of scientific, clinical and commercial interest. Our strength lies in a close co-operation with medical research institutions, clinics and the device industry.

Our students are from the Royal Institute of Technology, the Karolinska Institute, Stockholm University and Södertörns Högskola and are attractive for Swedish and international medical device industry and health care.
